So,
it’s been a while since we have posted on this blog and I think it’s time to
get back at it. It’s hard to believe that we began this blogging journey way
back in November of 2007. Where does time go?
Like many of you, our family continues to grow, experience change and challenges. We can't let the challenges define who we are, but how we respond to those challenges and how we overcome them does in fact define who we are. You know, one of the most fulfilling life achievements for me and our team
is being available for someone who is either about to experience or has just
experienced a death of a loved one.
Emotionally, when loss occurs no matter how prepared we think we are, our
emotions begin take over and the power of our mind becomes unbridled.
We begin to feel as though we are losing
control.
It becomes hard to think clear, plan
effectively, do simple tasks without mistakes; we become forgetful and
emotionally and physically exhausted. Id be remissed if I didn’t tell you that
it’s a journey that most all of us experience at one time or another if we are
so fortunate to love, be loved or care for someone close to us.
We have also been forewarned from the bible
in Hebrews,
9:27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but
after this the judgment.” So, we are consciously aware of this future pain in our
lives and the lives of those we love yet we act as though it comes to us
without warning. I guess that’s just our human nature. Death is something we
just don’t want to think about, it feels like and end, when really its just the
beginning. I believe, we have to live,
live well, live strong and live our lives in a manor that matters and makes a
difference to our family, friends, community and hopefully the world. We need
to live in a way that creates a strong legacy. There are many things in life that we
have no control over, but there are two things we have TOTAL CONTROL OVER and have been given an equal amount to each of us. It's How We Manage Our Time and What Kind Of Legacy are we creating and leaving behind. Every one of us has complete control of how
we will be remembered, were we contributor to the future generations or did we contribute nothing or even worse live a life of entitlement and take? We have all
equally been given 168 hours per week. It’s up to us how we spend it and manage
it. The 168 hours expires each week, only to never be returned to us. These hours are not part of a roll over plan, when they are gone, they are gone. So if it’s
wasted it’s gone forever but if it's invested that investment will last forever. Every night before we go to bed, lets ask ourselves
“Did I waste Any Of The Day That I just Finished? This simple question will
help us better manage our time and make sure that we are living a life that is
healthier, both physically and mentally as well as creating a lasting legacy
that both our families and ourselves will be proud of. Know that you are important; your life matters
and within each of us we have an enormous amount of greatness that we can
contribute to help others around us become great. Let’s start right now on a journey to a better more fulfilling life!
